Just after 5:00PM this evening, Engine 63-2 was alerted on the initial dispatch for a reported house fire on Doveland Court in Box Area 54-01.
A 9-1-1 caller reported a stove fire, which wasn’t confirmed to be contained.
Chief 54 (Lampeter Fire Company No. 1) arrived first to find a burning odor from the stove within the dwelling.
Engine 63-2 was next arriving and deployed 2 attack lines to the front of the dwelling. Next arriving was Engine 54-2 who supported the Primary Water Supply at the end of the cul-de-sac and assisted our engine in “hand jacking” a supply line back.
Upon investigation from 54 and 63 crew members the odor was traced back to a switch within the stoves ventilation system and the assignment was scaled back.
Engine 63-2 operated for about 45 minutes before returning to service.
