As the weekend was winding down, the volunteers were back on the street with Mutual Aid (Witmer, Hand-in-Hand, Ronks, and Lampeter) for a Reported House Fire on Lupine Circle in the run district.
A caller reported hearing an explosion from the hot water heater within the dwelling. The hot water heater began to smoke as it shorted out.
Engine 63-2 was first arriving, taking the primary water supply in the cul-de-sac. The crew stretched the 400’ attack line, leaving room for the Truck Company to position in front of the house.
After a brief investigation, the hot water heater was determined to be de energized and there was no active fire or smoke.
The assignment was held to E63-2, Truck 63, and Engine 41-1 who began to repack lines and restored units for service.
Chief 62 (Creamer) had the Incident.
