Just before midnight, Engine 63-2 and Truck 63 were dispatched to the 1100 Block of E Orange Street in Lancaster Township for an Inside Investigation.
A 9-1-1 caller reported a smoke detector sounding with an evident odor of something burning.
Upon the arrival of Captain 63-1 (Leed) and Engine 63-2, crews made entry to an unoccupied apartment through an unlocked window and found a significant smoke condition inside. Captain 63-1 upgraded the assignment until crews could determine the source of the smoke.
After some investigating, the smoke condition was traced back to burnt food on the stove and the assignment was held to company 63.
