As we close out 2025 and look ahead to 2026, we want to take a moment to reflect.
In 2025, Lafayette Fire Company responded to 714 alarms, surpassing our previous highest call volume of 615 calls in 2023. While we never wish for emergencies to occur—and continue to do everything we can to reduce risk through prevention, education, and preparedness—we also recognize that our community is growing, and with that growth comes increased demand for emergency services.
At a time when volunteerism is declining nationwide, we are proud to have held steady in our membership and strengthened partnerships with our neighboring departments. Through mutual aid and cooperation, we continue to support one another to ensure staffing gaps are filled and help arrives when it’s needed most.
None of this happens without dedicated volunteers, supportive families, strong partnerships, and a community that believes in its fire company.
As we welcome 2026, we wish everyone a happy, safe, and healthy New Year. Thank you for your continued support—we’re honored to serve.
