Many of us practice fire drills at work and at school, but do you practice them at home? Take time today to plan your escape at home!
Always know 2 exits out of your home, keep walkways and window exits clear and have a meeting place outside. Be sure to have working smoke alarms in your home and test them often.
It is the 100th anniversary of Fire Prevention Week October 9th-15th, 2022.
Fire Prevention Week was started by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) in 1922 to commemorate the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. The goal is to teach children and adults how to stay safe in a fire.
Thank you to our volunteers for spending valuable time to help keep our Lancaster community safe!
Mellinger Preschoolers and chaperones were able to experience a fully outfitted firefighter, learn about a smoke detector and what to do if it sounds, they practiced “Stop, Drop, & Roll,” and even got a special tour of the 2021 Pierce Enforcer Fire Engine.
