As the dayside responders were just getting home after a busy day, the tones were struck again. This time, to the Treehouse Foods bakery on Old Philadelphia Pike in the First Due Local for another Building Fire.
Callers reported a power outage in the building, causing the oven conveyor belts to seize operation. Thus, the pretzels baking on the conveyers began to burn as the gas ovens kept running. The burnt pretzels caused a significant smoke condition within the bakery.
Units operating secured a water supply, supplied the FDC, and ventilated the building.
The burnt pretzels eventually cooled once utilities were controlled, and no further service was required.
