Mid Morning, Companies 63, 62, 41, and 54 handled a Natural Gas Leak on Drexel Avenue in the Run District.
A contractor struck the gas line, causing an active leak.
As precautionary measures, 2 local hydrants were secured and a charged attack line was staged until the leak was secured. Crews also evacuated local homes.
Once the leak was secured, crews monitored the interior of the affected dwelling for gas readings.
Companies operated for about an hour before returning to service.
