Just after 10am today, Units from 41 (Bird in Hand) 48 (Ronks), and 44 (Intercourse) were sent to the 2800 block of Church Rd. in Leacock Twp. for a reported barn fire. Shortly after the dispatch, units reported smoke showing from 2 miles away and requested the 2nd alarm sending Truck 63 to the scene. The Truck and a crew were at the old Congress Inn training site and responded right away. On arrival the crew was assigned to open the roof to provide some much needed relief to crews from 41 and 48 working inside the 2nd floor of the structure. 63 personnel then assisted in removing burning hay from the barn. The truck was on scene for about 3 hours. During this fire Rescue/Engine 631 transferred to 41's station as well.
