3 ALARM HOUSE FIRE
Wednesday, September 8, 2010
-
Around 10:30am today, units from 54 (Lampeter), 63 and 512 (Willow Street) were sent to 7 Resch Ln. for a reported house fire. It quickly became obvious by the visible smoke column that this would be a working fire. Medic 612-8 (LEMSA) was first to arrive and confirmed heavy fire showing. E633 was the first in engine and began a split lay from Millport Rd. due to this area not having hydrants. The engine crew led off with heavy lines and made an attempt at an interior attack. As conditions deteriorated, the interior crews were evacuated and all units went defensive flowing portable master streams from E633 and the ladder pipe from Truck 512. Crews did manage to save an attached office area where the homeowner ran his business. Crews from E633, Tower 63, and Squad 63 remained on the scene for several hours. Thank you to Engine 312 (Bareville) for covering our station and handling a small brush fire in the first due.

THE MACK HEADS SOUTH FOR WEEK-LONG BRUSH FIRE
Sunday, September 5, 2010
-
Early this morning E632 and a crew answered a request to operate a tanker fill site for a brush fire in the Highville section of Manor Twp. This fire had been burning since earlier in the week. Engine 2 set-up at the Safe Harbor Park and was responsible to refill Tanker 111 (Smokestown) who was the shuttle tanker for the day. Engine 2 replaced Coulmbia E871 who had been there since the night before.  The engine filled the tanker several times before the fire was finally declared to be extinguished and the crew was released.

MVA WITH ROLLOVER REQUIRES ROPE WORK
Tuesday, August 17, 2010
-
Almost 24 hours after working on some basic rope operations for training the skills were put to use. Co. 63 and EMS were sent to the Rt. 30 Bypass between Rt. 462 and Rt. 340 for a crash with one rolled over. Deputy 63 (Hershey) arrived to find a single vehicle several hundred feet off of the roadway in a drainage basin with 2 patients inside. While EMS made their way through the tall weeds the crew from RE631 set up a simple haul system with the stokes basket in order to move the patients over the hill to the EMS units. Both patients were extricated from the basin within 20 minutes. Units remained on the scene for over one hour providing lighting for the vehicle recovery crews.
